A table and two pie charts illustrate how police budget in a single area in Britain originates and how it is spent. Neither the total figure of the budget nor the spending pattern shows dramatic change.
The table reveals that the overall budget and every contributor saw a gradual improvement, the smallest increase being the category called “other sources” growing slightly from 35 million pounds (MPs). Other other two sources, National government with 175.5 MPs and Local Taxes with 91.2 MPs showed a more profound increase with more significance in the former (only over 2 MPs increase) than the latter (about 10 MPs increase).
The pie chart, specifies budget allocation which in two mentioned years retained its overall pattern. In 2017, the biggest expenditure was on officers and staff salaries which was three forth of the whole, while the other 2 recipients combined received only one fourth (building and transport twice that of Technology). By 2018, while Salaries had a drop to slightly less than 70% of the budget, Technology almost doubled (to 14%) and Building and Transport remained the same (17%).
Overall, while the budget improved slightly in the second year, but only one category benefitted from this increase and there was no increase in the others.
