First of all, it is undeniable that even an unknown piece of music whose composer speaks a foreign language can create a depressing or exciting atmosphere that attracts millions of people around the world. This audience may find this shared interest a starting point to begin discussions and exchange of ideas especially on the Internet. Secondly, the existence of internationally known musicians who launch continent-wide tours proves the fact that some music is appreciated beyond any cultural borders or age group. Although modern and effective advertisement plays a role but music itself is the key driving factor behind such events. (132 words)
On the contrary, however, there are those who question the attribution of such qualities to music and believe music cannot be considered a way of uniting people with different backgrounds or age gap. First of all, most types of music even with passionate fans are rather limited to some regions with specific culture or language and the number of their audience diminishes rapidly outside such areas as if they do not even exist. Secondly, listening to music and following a certain type or a singer is in fact a way of expressing one’s differences and keeping distance rather than a simple and blind interest.
