High school years is a great time for gaining precious experience. I believe teenagers can benefit from working for free as a part of their education to acquire experience, but such scheme certainly comes with drawbacks. (36 words)

Teenagers can benefit from volunteer works even as if it is mandatory part of their education. First of all, it can be the first serious experience of work for most high school students and they can have a real sense of performing tasks outside home under the supervision of strangers with different attitudes, which is a challenge since they have to find a way to adapt themselves not only to the new environment but also to the people who assign them tasks. Moreover, it provides an excellent opportunity to start considering a career outside the world of books and classrooms, which is crucial since many graduates find themselves unfit in the job market as the academic world teaches them little about required occupational skills. (124 words)

Such obligation, however, might prove to be an obstacle. First of all, not all high school students are available after school hours as some do part-time jobs to save up money to be able to afford college. Hence, forcing them to do an unpaid work to gain the experience that they already have seems unreasonable. Moreover, the safety of such work environment deserves consideration as some students at that age may be unable to defend themselves against offenders and harassment. This potentially puts students at risk when they are left alone in places without enough supervision, so unless a proper and safe environment is provided, this voluntary work should never be forced to unfit pupils. (115 words)

In conclusion, while I believe such unpaid work can be a great chance for teenagers to gain valuable experience, it should be limited only to those who will not be adversely affected by such schemes. (35 words)

🔴 Some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmes (for example working for a charity, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to younger children).
To what extent do you agree or disagree?

✍️ In recent years, there has been a growing debate about whether unpaid community service should be a mandatory component of high school programs. While some individuals argue that it is essential for students to engage in such activities, I firmly believe that participation in voluntary community service should be a personal choice rather than a compulsory requirement.

On the one hand, proponents of mandatory community service argue that it offers numerous benefits to students. Firstly, it promotes a sense of civic responsibility and social awareness among young individuals. By actively participating in activities such as working for a charity or improving the neighborhood, students can develop empathy and compassion towards others, thus fostering a more harmonious and inclusive society. Secondly, engaging in community service allows students to acquire valuable life skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. These skills are not only beneficial for their personal growth but also prepare them for future challenges in the professional world.

On the other hand, I believe that making community service compulsory may have several drawbacks. Firstly, it could lead to a forced and insincere participation from students. When an activity becomes mandatory, it often loses its intrinsic value and becomes perceived as a chore rather than a genuine act of kindness. This could result in students merely going through the motions without truly understanding the significance of their actions. Secondly, forcing students to engage in community service might create an additional burden on their already demanding academic schedule. High school students already face immense pressure to excel academically, and imposing compulsory community service could further add to their stress levels.

Moreover, it is important to recognize that individuals have different interests and talents. While some students may excel in activities such as teaching sports to younger children, others may have different passions or talents that could contribute to society in alternative ways. By allowing students to choose their own voluntary activities based on their interests and skills, they are more likely to be motivated and committed to making a positive impact.

In conclusion, although unpaid community service can offer various benefits to high school students, I strongly believe that it should remain a voluntary choice rather than a mandatory requirement. While it is crucial to encourage young individuals to engage in community activities, it is equally important to respect their autonomy and allow them to pursue their own passions and interests. By doing so, we can foster a genuine sense of social responsibility and empower students to make a meaningful difference in their communities.

Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school.
Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages.

These days, knowing a foreign language is essential for people. Some people state primary school students should learn it instead of at secondary school. In my perspective, the positive effect of this scheme is more than its drawbacks, however, we should not ignore them.
One of the experts’ reasons for such decision is children in lower ages have more ability to learn. In other words, they can learn a foreign language more convenient and quicker than other students. In addition, pupils at primary schools do not have as much homework as secondary school students, thus they have more leisure time to practice a new language because learning a novel language needs lots of time to spend on it to learn thoroughly. Although, the way we instruct them is vitally important, which should be a scientific method.
Nevertheless, instructing a foreign language at primary school has some adverse effects that make serious problems. For instance, it is apparent that learning a new language would be difficult for people of all ages, such as learning novel grammars or memorizing manifold vocabulary. Therefore, this difficult lesson might scare new students who start going to school. Moreover, not only will they be scared of schools but also they will have a negative feeling about learning any new language. As an illustration, there are many adults who abhor some lessons like mathematics because when they were a child, their parents had taught them math before they have started to go to schools.
By way of conclusion, primary schools are suitable places to learn a foreign language because children at this age have more free time and also they learn faster, however, the method of teaching is significant, otherwise, this hard lesson makes them reluctant toward schools and learning as a whole.
