Exotic and unusual places has gain popularity among tourists during the past decades. While they can gain benefits from such journeys, there might be some threats too. This essay will examine these two points (34 words).

There are benefits for tourists visiting exotic places. First of all, there is more excitement to enjoy because unlike five-star hotels around the globe that offer excellent but very predictable and undeniably similar services, unusual places break the norm of taking sunbath and eating fancy foods. This alternative would be more appealing especially to younger generations who do not share the eagerness for peace and quiet of famous hotels. Secondly, travelling to an odd destination as a tourist would be a new experience for travelers. Having such experience is perhaps able to change one’s perspective and give the life a new meaning. This, undoubtedly, is worth much more compare to a tedious and predictable summer vacation. (116 words)

On the other hand, there is a reason why not everybody fancies such journeys. First of all, there are some threats to the visitors’ health and even lives. Places such as Arctic or Sahara deserts or islands of uncharted territories have skillful predators who know those regions very well and can attack any second. Not only large and small animals but even insects, parasites or seemingly harmless plants may pose a threat to the travelers’ wellbeing or lives. Secondly, facilities and amenities that a visitor to such places can enjoy is undoubtedly inferior to that of other tourist destinations. Services such as air conditioners in the middle of the deserts or spacious and pleasantly warm suits in Polar regions may never be possible to be delivered (126 words).

In conclusion, tourists in faraway places with extreme weather may enjoy some benefits but admittedly there are disadvantages to deal with (21 words).

The chart shows how much people in UK used telephones in three different categories: Local line, National and international fixed line and Mobiles between 1995 and 2002.

In 1995, Local calls were more than 70 billion minutes. This number increased about 20 billion minutes to 90  in 1998. It then started to decrease to a 70 billion minutes again.

At the beginning, the number of minutes spoken using National and international fixed line was less that 40 billion minutes. This number only increased gradually for the next 7 years to the highest amount, over 60 billion minutes, in 2002.

The number of minutes spent on the Mobile calls were only a few billion minutes in 1995 and this rather small number increased slightly to just under 10 billion minutes in 1999. Next it surged dramatically to a peak of 45 billion minutes at the end of the period in 2002.

Overall, it seems the big difference in popularity among all three categories at the beginning started to  diminish and at the final year all these categories had  very similar level of popularity. (182 Words)

The charts illustrates the total length of time spent on three groups of telephone calls in UK over a period of eight years from 1995 to 2002.

The most popular way of telephoning was local calls by fixed line in the beginning of the period in 1995 with slightly over 70 billion minutes, which started to rise gradually for the next four years to reach a peak of 90 million minutes, before falling back to the level of 1995.

Two other categories, National and International fixed lines and Mobiles, though quite different in popularity at the beginning(37 billion minutes for the former and only about 3 billion minutes for the latter), showed  an increase all over the period, peaking at over 60 and 45 billion minutes respectively in 2002. This growth for mobile calls was quite slow for the first few years but in 1998 it took off and surged to a peak of 45 billion minutes at the end of the period.

Overall, while Local fixed line was the only category that showed a decline in the number of minutes, two other ones only experienced growth. Also, despite the considerable differences in popularity, all three categories were quite popular at the end and had the least difference at the end. (211 Words)

The graph shows the average weekly time spent by children at the age of 10 to 11 on two different leisure activities (TV and computer) at home. (27)

Schoolchildren spend just under 4 hours a week on computer at the beginning of the period in 2000. This number increased steadily for the next 4 years to 15 hours in 2004. Then it increased more slowly during the following 4 years to 2008 to reach a peak of almost 22 hours per week. (54)

Time spent on TV was much higher compare to computer at the beginning of the period. It started at 21 hours in 200 and stayed the same until 2003. At this time it showed a downward trend and fell to 15 hours in 2004. During the next 4 years up to the end of period in 2008, despite some fluctuations, it remained stable at this level. (66)

Overall, it seems children’s preference for these two pastime activities changed dramatically and during this nine-year period they have reversed. (20)

There are better situation for work in a large city. First of all, the salary of employees is higher compare with a small town. Since the companies are bigger and more people work in them, their profit is more and these companies are able to pay higher salaries to their staff. Secondly, the number of companies and factories is much more when we compare them to a small town. there are thousands of companies in and around a large city. Each of them needs people to work in and as a result it is easier to find a job in a big city. (103 Words)

There are also more facilities and services in a large city. First of all, governments around the world always provide more support for big cities. They allocate more budget to large cities and it is easier for people and corporations to ask for financial assistance for starting or improving their business. Secondly, big cities have large populations. when millions of people live in a city, demand for many services increases and also some people ask for high quality services. Business owners have to compete to provide better services and as a result there is a higher chance of finding modern facilities in a big city. (105 Words)
