Our lives in the modern world are replete with options and choices and we achieve progress by making better decisions. However, such decisions involve risks and it is wise to consider both the benefits and disadvantages when trying to find the best course of action. (45 Words)
There are obvious advantages in making decisions involving risks. First of all, we maximize our chances of making the best of the opportunities when we step out of our comfort zone. Examples can be choosing the right partner to get married or purchasing the right real estate with reasonable chance of appreciation. Without taking steps and only relying on zero alternative and hoping for the status quo to turn out to be the best option, we minimize our chance of moving forward. Secondly, the modern economy is far from stable and one can barely rely on a supposedly safe job and a monthly salary to get through tough times. There are lay-offs and downsizing that threatens businesses of all sizes and types. Therefore, one needs to secure alternative revenue and educate themselves about new possibilities rather than attempting to avoid them altogether. (142 Words)
However important, taking such risks cannot be without problems and I believe the disadvantages are noticeable. First of all, there are too much emphasis out there for aggressive expansion and the social media is filled with get-rich-quick schemes that promise glamorous lives. Taking such risks in many cases will not turn into a desirable result and regardless of how meticulously a plan has been devised, there is always a chance of failure due to numerous hidden factors. Such failures can ruin families and lead to depression or loss of capital. The reality of an ideal image of success might be far from taking such risks. Secondly, the stress involved in all critical but personal decisions can become a health hazard if it is constant. Regardless of the result, such anxiety can leave some people feel unhappy over extended periods of their lives. (142 Words)
In conclusion, while I agree that accepting risks is a key factor in paving the way for better material and spiritual lives, I also believe such benefits alone do not justify turning a blind eye on the dark side of risks which involves broken lives and ruined families, so we need to exercise caution when we cherish brevity of entrepreneurs and successful people around us.
