Cambridge IELTS 12 Academic Test 3 Sample Answer

The chart illustrates six categories based on the frequency of fast food consumption in USA in three different years over a decade between 2003 and 2013.

It is most common for American people to consume fast food once a week or once or twice a month since about 30 percent of the population is reported to have these habits in 2003. In 2013, however, this number decreased by about 5 percent for the former and increased by a similar amount for the latter.

In 2003, those who had fast food several times a week and few time annually constituted slightly over and under 15 percent of the population respectively. A decade later in 2013, the first group seems to had increased by a few percent before falling closer to 15 percent and the second group, despite showing a few percent of increase, finally stabilized at its starting level. Only a negligible percentage (almost 5 percent) of Americans ate either everyday or never and both showed a downward trend to form an even smaller percentage.

Overall, eating every week and every month seems to be the most popular eating habits for fast foods during this period and it appears in all categories there is a tendency to remain unchanged.

نمونه سوال رایتینگ آیلتس آکادمیک (Chart) بهمراه جواب – نمونه پاسخ نمره 6 تا 7

The chart shows how much people in UK used telephones in three different categories: Local line, National and international fixed line and Mobiles between 1995 and 2002.

In 1995, Local calls were more than 70 billion minutes. This number increased about 20 billion minutes to 90  in 1998. It then started to decrease to a 70 billion minutes again.

At the beginning, the number of minutes spoken using National and international fixed line was less that 40 billion minutes. This number only increased gradually for the next 7 years to the highest amount, over 60 billion minutes, in 2002.

The number of minutes spent on the Mobile calls were only a few billion minutes in 1995 and this rather small number increased slightly to just under 10 billion minutes in 1999. Next it surged dramatically to a peak of 45 billion minutes at the end of the period in 2002.

Overall, it seems the big difference in popularity among all three categories at the beginning started to  diminish and at the final year all these categories had  very similar level of popularity. (182 Words)

نمونه سوال رایتینگ آیلتس آکادمیک (Chart) بهمراه جواب – نمونه پاسخ نمره 7.5

The charts illustrates the total length of time spent on three groups of telephone calls in UK over a period of eight years from 1995 to 2002.

The most popular way of telephoning was local calls by fixed line in the beginning of the period in 1995 with slightly over 70 billion minutes, which started to rise gradually for the next four years to reach a peak of 90 million minutes, before falling back to the level of 1995.

Two other categories, National and International fixed lines and Mobiles, though quite different in popularity at the beginning(37 billion minutes for the former and only about 3 billion minutes for the latter), showed  an increase all over the period, peaking at over 60 and 45 billion minutes respectively in 2002. This growth for mobile calls was quite slow for the first few years but in 1998 it took off and surged to a peak of 45 billion minutes at the end of the period.

Overall, while Local fixed line was the only category that showed a decline in the number of minutes, two other ones only experienced growth. Also, despite the considerable differences in popularity, all three categories were quite popular at the end and had the least difference at the end. (211 Words)

The graph shows the average weekly hours spent by schoolchildren on two different leisure activities at home over a period of nine years from 2000 to 2008.

Schoolchildren aged 10 to 11 years old spent less than 4 hours per week on computer in 2000. This number increased considerably over the next 4 years to 15 hours in 2004. At the beginning of the same period (2000), the time spent on watching TV was 21 hours per week, which remained the same over the nest three years. Next, it fell rapidly from 21 to 15 hours weekly in 2004.

Schoolchildren continued to spend more time on computer from 2004 and 2008 and the number reached a peak of just under 22 hours. At the same time despite a fluctuation between 2005 and 2006, the time spent on watching TV remained stable at the level of almost 15 hours per week.

Overall, While TV was much more popular than computer at the beginning of this period, it seems the time schoolchildren spent on them has reversed. (175 words)

Two maps depict a tropical island of a few hundreds square meters before and after the construction of some leisure facilities for tourists.

It appears that two sites for tourists accommodation have been built, which are connected to each other and to other areas with footpath. There is also a reception in the middle of the island, which is accessible by a vehicle track from the southern part, where a pier is constructed for some pleasure boats. The other significant change is a single restaurant in the northern part of the island that can be also accessed by vehicles. The beach in the western side can be used for swimming after this development. There are also some palm trees in the western and eastern regions of the island, which seem to be untouched by this change.

Overall, the development which appears to be more concentrated on the western side and the center, has dramatically changed the face of the island in a way that it can accommodate a few hundreds of tourists at the same time. (177 Words)

Two maps show the construction of facilities in an island. One map show the situation before and one map after the construction.

In the first map there is not much for possible tourists to enjoy except a swimming area in the left side of the island. How ever in the second map there is a restaurant in the middle of the island on the left close to a reception. There is a vehicle track for tourists who want to reach the reception or the restaurant. Other important change is the construction of several accommodation sites for tourists not far from the reception. Other important facilities for enjoyment of tourists are the boats for sailing in the southern side of the island, where a pier can be seen and a beach for swimming in the left side.

Overall, it seems the island is totally different after the construction of tourist facilities and especially the western and middle parts can be a good place for tourists to enjoy their stay. (167 Words)

نمونه رایتینگ مدرس با ایده پردازی انجام شده در کلاس

There is a better situation for work in big cities. First of all, there is more diversity in jobs and occupations to choose from. Unlike small towns and rural areas, more experts and specialists are needed in large cities to work in large corporations and huge factories. As a result many more people with a university degree or a PhD can find a job as well. Secondly, more companies and factories are located in and around the large cities. Each factory and company requires many employees to be able to function appropriately and it means it increases the chance of starting a job in large cities. (106 Words)

There are more facilities and services to enjoy in a large city too. First of all, big cities receive more budget and as a result are able to provide more services and facilities. This budget can make it possible to create modern public services in large cities and to maintain them too. Secondly, there is more demand since the population is several millions and this huge number of people demand many services and have enough money to pay for them too. So, governments normally give the budget to large cities to both satisfy the demand and benefit from it too.  (100 words)

    Dear sir or madam.
I am writing in connection with an advertisement that is about a training course will be held on the next week. It would be an excellent opportunity to take part in this course. They will learn some essential techniques to increase companies’ sales and improve the efficiency of the staff.

The cost of the course is about 220$ per person, and they will give a special discount for group registration until 20 August. Of course, if you agree about the expenses, I can prepare a registration form and will sign the sales staffs up who are interested in this course.

As our annual sales report indicates, we have to attract more customers for the next year. In this case, I assume this course will be very beneficial and efficient for our sales team. As I realized most of our rivals have the same plan to increase their sales as well.
Hope to hear from you very soon.
    Yours faithfully,

The future of students is directly related to their choice of study at universities. Although some people believe that all university students should only study subjects that will be useful for their future, others including me think that they should study whatever they like. In this essay, I will examine both of these viewpoints.
Choosing subjects that related to science or technology can be more useful for the students’ future. First of all, a better job opportunity is an important aspect that should be considered by the students. The students who desire to find a suitable job should choose subjects that are more in demand in the job market. Secondly, the job promotion is a crucial factor that can be mentioned in this regard. It is an undeniable fact if the students choose useful subjects that are related to science or technology, they will have more chance to get promoted and reach their goals.
On the other hand, some students desire to study other subjects in the universities. First of all, it should be noted that the students who choose their desired field of study are more motivated than others. By the way, the motivation is a principal factor that will lead to more success. Secondly, we can assume that these students have more confidence rather than others. Because they have the ability to choose their desired field of study without getting affected by someone else. It can be considered that more confidence can result in more success and will contribute to achieving goals too.
In my opinion, the students should take their field of study intellectually rather than getting affected by others. We should not make them choose what we want.
In conclusion, some people think that students should choose to study subjects that are useful for their future. Others believe that the students should study whatever they like. Both sides have some points that should be noted carefully.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of….

این سوال دقیقا مشابه سوال شهر بزرگ و شهر کوچک هست. میتونید فایل صوتی جلسه اول رو هم دقیق بشنوید برای ایده پردازی.

The two maps illustrate developments which took place in the Taftsville Public library after reconstruction.
Overall, a comparison of the two plans, it is clear that the library has been enlarged and some spaces were added after renovation.
Before the renovation, from the entrance of the building, the desk was at the center of the library and that was surrounded by three rooms. There was the reference area behind of the desk. A large children`s room was situated on the right side. The library had two adult`s rooms, one non-fiction and the other fiction, which were located on the left.
After reconstruction, the library was expanded in a number of different ways. The desk was transferred close to the front door. The reading was placed instead of the reference area. The old children`s room was separated to two rooms, one for a magazine and the other for a new reference area. The new children`s room was built behind of the magazine room. In addition, a new garden was added adjacent to the children`s room. Despite of other sides, the adult`s rooms were unchanged.(183 words)

    Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in connection with the Sports Center which you have considered to close. As you know my children and I have been participating in this center. We use the facility and services of the center regularly. My friends and I are the members of the local volleyball team.
As you know numerous people take part in this center and spend their leisure time there. This center has provided an excellent opportunity for the local people to improve their abilities and skills. This center gathered lots of people together to use the facilities and sports equipment as well.
The closing of this center has some drawbacks that should be considered by the council. The existence of this center results in more happy people in the society. The number of young people who use these services is increasing daily. It would be better if you have a consideration in this regard.

Where ever you see a big mall, it means you can no longer see many small shops. Although some believe that big malls and shopping centers have had adverse effects, others including me think they have had many positive aspects. In this essay I will examine positive effects.
Big malls help people to save their time. First of all, people can find everything they need in big malls and so they have not to go and look for different shops across the city and spend a lot of time. Secondly, big malls are more than shopping centers. Many other services such as cinemas, lotteries, bookstores, kindergartens, etc. are provided in big malls. So, people can do shopping in addition to many other activities in a center and save their time.
Big malls also help people to save their money. First of all, when several shops compete in a center, naturally the prices tend to decrease to lowest. Secondly, when people buy all they need in a center, they are exempted from transportation fees which would be incurred in the case of buying local small shops which are spread all over the city.
In conclusion, I think saving time and money have been main advantages of big malls in comparison with small shops. Therefore, we can evaluate the effect of big malls as positive.

    Large shopping centres
Modern large shopping centers have brought a significant revolution in the world of shopping over the last few decades. Although some people consider that the popularity of big malls has many drawbacks, others including me disagree. This essay will discuss the second view point.(44 words)
Centralized shopping malls provide specific opportunity to manage time. First of all, a wide variety of products are available under one roof. people can find whatever they need, so it helps consumers to save their valuable time. Secondly, easy access is the major reason that people prefer malls. The enormous stores housed in one complex.people can drive up to one place and do all their shopping there. The stores are connected by walkways, therfore consumers can easily walk between the stores. Besides, shopping malls incorporate vast parking areas into their construction. This makes it advantageous for people to choose to shop at a mall rather than a single store.(109 words)
Large shopping centers promote economic growth. First of all, shopping malls can create many job vacancies for unemployed people. Modern large shopping centers have several departments that need to employ many people to manage them, Therefore it helps to have more income and develop local economies. Secondly, malls can attract many people attention and in this way, thousands of people may visit them from other cities and even other countries. Beautiful architecture, ambiance, entertainment facilities such as cinema hall, food courts entice many people toward hypermarkets.shopping is no longer just purchasing things, but it is also a kind of entertainment for people in the modern society.(106 words)
In conclusion, Shopping at a department store is a more convenient experience than going to several traditional shops.saving times and improving local economic are as advantages of large shopping malls compared to small shops.(34 words)

Nowadays we observe a dramatic increase in the number of large shopping centers. Although some people believe that this growth is a negative development, others including me think that it has some positive effects. In this essay, I will examine the second viewpoint.

It is essential to know large shopping centers can save our time for several reasons. First of all, according to the number of malls, it seems that a diversity of stores have appeared than before. It is crucial to know this diversity can contribute people to save their time. Secondly, easy access to the shopping centers is an encouraging point that should be noted. As the large shopping centers located in a specific area so it would be easy for the people to travel to these type of markets. Most of the people tend to have easy access to these shops.

Sure enough, people who refer to these type of malls want to have a good experience of shopping. First of all, the price is a crucial factor that most people consider. Since the stores in a mall trying to compete with each other, they try to reduce their prices in different ways too. Secondly as a result of the competition the high-quality products can be offered by suppliers as well. For instance, the quality of clothes is an essential factor for the customers. It could be considered the good quality of a product can have a positive influence on the customers.

In conclusion, large shopping centers and malls have some positive impacts that should be noted. For instance, better shopping experience and saving time are critical factors that people should consider for their shopping.

Allocating money to provide modern transportation facilities continues to be a controversial issue. Although some people think that the vast resources of money should be spent to construct new railways between cities, others believe that inner cities transport opportunities should be improved. This essay will discuss both of these views. (49)
On the one hand, according to providing safe traveling, new railways has been announced as one the most profitable modes of transportation by recent news. First of all, statistical research has shown that the number of vehicular accidents has been decreased significantly since new railways were constructed. Accordingly, inhabitants could have comfortable trips with high-tech trains without concerning about the hazards of using buses or even their private cars. Secondly, it has been debated, new railways have a great impact on making balance in the population of big cities and bringing socio-economic equality. For instance, finding more proper jobs and achieving a better quality of life are due to new railways that makes small cities attractive. (113)
On the other hand, other people put forward the argument that the money should be paid to develop the current inner cities transport opportunities. First of all, it has been felt that national budget could be efficiently saved with the latest methods of urban preservation and maintenance. For instance, it was evidenced that in the city of New York one-tenth of transportation budget was saved by making linkages between the old metro stations. Secondly, the amount of physical destruction would be decreased with optimum use of available resources. For instance, one of the threats of ruining sensible ancient fabrics has been recognized as drilling process that could be easily prevented with enhancing walkability of inner cities. (115)

    children free time
The child’s mental and brain development is of particular importance. Some parents believe in their offspring taking part in preplanned group activities during their free time, while others think that children should learn how to keep themselves engaged by themselves. In this essay, while we will consider two different groups in detail, I will also explain my personal perspective. (59)

Involving in organized group activities is certainly useful for children. First of all, they can learn how to do team work, make better communication with others and have a special role in one part of each group action. For example, in a group cooking activity or arts & crafts Activities for Kids, every child can commit an especial role and work with and among others. Secondly, children can learn how to be responsible person and how to improve their responsibility. In other words, they can learn how to be on time in performing a fully especial allocated activity and doing it optimally. (102)

On the flip side, are those who believe in children playing on their own and occupy themselves. First of all, each child can improve its personal creativity by showing internal ideas or talents. For example, they could read, write or paint individually. These activities not only keep them engaged, but also help them discover their hidden abilities. Secondly, playing alone gets children ready for school since you won’t be able to sit in the back of the classroom with them every day. They don’t feel abandoned because one day you drop those off at school, making them feel like you’ve left them alone for the first time. (107)

In my opinion, taking part in group activities for children is more beneficial than individual activities because they learn to observe group discipline and improve their social skills. (28)

To conclude, it is important for children to manage how to keep themselves involved on their own. However, parents should also inspire them to participate in group activities because such activities help to improve their sociability and accountability. (38)

Some parents encourage their children to become involved in an organized group. First of all, the children who join in the organized groups can increase their ability to cooperate with other kids as well. It could be a good chance for them to exchange their ideas with each other. Secondly, the children can decrease their mistakes by joining the organized groups in any way. It could be very beneficial for the children to learn how to avoid making mistakes and increase their cognitive ability. Some children have a creative talent to learn how to deal with challenges and avoid mistakes.

Some parents believe that it could be better to teach the children how to occupy themselves on their own. First of all, it can be a good suggestion the children can increase their decision-making ability by engaging themselves in fascinating ways. For example, some video games enable development of critical decision skills. Secondly, it should be considered the independence of the children is an important issue. The children can occupy themselves in the activities that will result in more self-sufficiency. For example, doing local volunteer work or making a valuable contribution to their family can result in more independence in the children.

In my opinion, the children can participate in organized groups and benefit from it. But that does not mean they cannot occupy themselves on their own. It would be better to strike a balance between these two significant activities.

In conclusion, some parents urge their children to attend the organized groups. Others believe that it is crucial to teach them how to occupy themselves. Both of these viewpoints have some influences on the children which should be noted.

Although some people including me believe that children should be motivated to participate in social activities, others consider that it is the better choice for children to keep themselves busy on their own. This essay will discuss both of these views. (50 words)
Being involved in group pursuits have many benefits. First of all, this idea enables children to develop their social skills. Through social activities like playing team sports, children learn to depend on and trust each other in order to win a game or achieve their common goals. Besides that, it promotes cooperation and coordination which are very important in all aspects of life. Secondly, joining group activities give children a sense of belonging and the unique opportunity to make new friends.children can connect with other children and have a great time. This can fight mental issues such as depression and anxiety and benefit them tremendously in the long run. (103 words)
On the other hand, some parents prefer individual activities for their children. First of all, children who spend spare time on their own have more self-confidence. They learn to have fun on their own and don’t count on others for their happiness. children who are accustomed to entertain themselves, improve useful abilities when face problems in life. This independent time will help them to feel more confident and satisfied. Secondly, it brings a sense of calmness to children. When children learn how to successfully make themselves busy and enjoy it, their mood changes because they no longer need to put energy into arguing or competing with others, they can understand their own emotions and feelings. In the third step, the water had been heated up, it enters the production well after that is pumped up to the ground and into the condenser. The next step, steam is produced from the hot water in the condenser. Thus the steam passed in the turbine and it makes a circular movement.

In the last step, the generator which powers by the turbine and produces electricity, then transferred by lines.

The diagram illustrates 5 steps in which geothermal energy is used to make electricity.

In the beginning, the cold water pumps down into 4.5 km underground. Then it goes through the geothermal zone (hot rocks) by the injection well which is called step 2 of the process. The geothermal zone changes the cold water into the hot water by the high temperature that it has. In step 3 production well pumps up hot water into the condenser which is on the ground.

In the second phase and step 4, condenser pumps the steam into the turbine device and this can move the turbine. This spinning turbine transfers its power to the generator part which is the producer device of the electricity and electricity will be produced in it. Finally, this produced electricity will transfer to the high voltage power pole and goes to the city for consumption.

Overall, this geothermal power plant diagram shows two main basic parts including above-ground part and the underground part which produce electricity by starting pumping down the cold water into the geothermal zone (hot rocks) and convert it to steam that moves turbines and produce electricity.(192)

Secondly, they have more motivated for growing their position job even more competitive opportunities, so would be more comfortable for updating their minds with facing future changes, for example if a company try to use new software for producing new products, youngers would try update their programming knowledges.

Many countries now have a large population of young people. Although some people believe that this is disadvantageous, others including me accept that this is advantageous .This essay will analyses second view point of the argument.

A young nation resulted in increasing production that will take place in many different ways. First of all, they will quickly adapt to new technologies which are somewhat difficult for old people. For instance, using laser devices in the wood industries can produce a wide range of goods and will improve the quality of finished products. Secondly, due to high level of productivity in a younger society the rate of national overhead will increase. This Increase will result in higher level of people’s purchasing power and lower inflation rate of a society. (100)

Lower cost of living is another advantage of a younger society. Firstly, A younger population is healthier than the older one so this factor will reduce costs of health cares. As a result these budgets will be spent on other aspects such as society development or social welfare .Secondly, since they have better physical ability to work in comparison to old ones that society will experience high level of efficiency. For example, a group of young factory workers in an electronics manufacture who work at the assembly line, have more efficiency and more productivity which results in lower level of final goods prices.(103)

To conclude, when we look at the positive factors that young people bring to a society, it is not hard to recognize that the advantages of having more young people outweigh the disadvantages.

In view of disagree opinion, there are some reasons which call it, inappropriate questions. First of all, depending on cultural societies, especially in more close minded ones, these type questions, may be inferred some kind of interfering personal territory. Their will feel danger and maybe try to not be honest. So the answers will not be match according to the reality. For example being married or not question, sometimes have a bad reflection in societies with a high unpleased statistic. Secondly, facing with asking private question, will give an untrusty sense to people because they are not be comfortable to share their personal information or interest with strangers. They may be shameful, so say lie. e.g about their interest, try to select some false data answers to encourage for approving.

The opposite side, bring some other rational reasons for supporting their views. First of all, They believe that with personal information can manage better their company according to hidden data, for example giving Overtime hours in an emergency and busy projects. Secondly, they think, according to hidden abilities they can manage better the teamwork by matching employees in a more appropriate job position and they can handle better the company projects.

In my opinion, although there are some risks in sharing personal information, it can be helpful for progressing company’s situation, according to indirect personal properties.

Asking personal information by employers is sometimes useful. First of all, some employers for better evaluation of their staffs, ask their personal information. For example, they assemble this type of information to make the best decision and give them better conditions for work according to their circumstances. Secondly, companies by collecting some personal information such as marital status, hobbies, and interests can provide more and suitable services for them. It is an undeniable fact that abusing this type of information can have a high risk for job seekers who apply for their desired job. Secondly, invasion of privacy is another important reason that demonstrates presenting this type of information to the employers is ineffective and useless. Personal Information

Some employers in their interviews ask about personal information and interests of their employees while others ignore this part of their personal life. In this essay I am talking about both parties and merit or demerits of this behavior.

Those group who are against asking personal information believe that, this information such as religion or marital state are among very individual part of every person’s life that cannot be questioned. For instance some employees are single or divorced so asking question about their marital state may be more or less irritating. In other word asking these questions may be immoral and result in dissatisfaction. One reason for not asking these kinds of questions is that bosses may not rely on female married employees for very high level or prestigious responsibilities just because they are married and cannot concentrate on the important jobs carefully or completely. (106)

In other hand there are those who believe that asking these very personal questions are not immoral and may be even necessary. The reasons that they enumerate for asking such a very personal questions are that, work place is as a second home for all of the employees so understanding about their personal information can be informative in critical moments. One boss who was very insisting about asking these kinds of questions believed that he has been able to help people of other religions in his work place and has tried to respect the minority religions. In other case one boss claimed that he could help married staffs in a great deal by giving more loans or housing facilities.(126)

In my opinion though, asking these kind of questions are approximately unnecessary or somehow irrelevant. Since I believe personal life is completely separate from workplace life and should not be mixed up. I think, separating these two places and their problems from each other can give you a self-dependent personality in both places. A self-reliance person is a person that can sole his/ her problems creatively and smartly.
