The diagram illustrates the process of producing electricity by geothermal energy in a geothermal power plant. (16)
Overall, this process consists of five major steps in which the Earth’s internal heat is applied in order to produce electricity from cold water and by using some piece of equipment. (31)
In the first stage of producing electricity, cold water kept in a huge container on the surface of the land is pumped down 4.5 kilometer through a vertical channel into an injection well. Then in the second step, it is passed into a geothermal zone to be boiled by the surrounding hot rocks. Afterward, in the third phase the production well is used to pump up hot water to the ground again. (72)
Regarding to the fourth stage, the high temperature water is condensed in an enormous condenser to convert into steam. Finally, the resulting steam is conducted into fifth stage to power a turbine and ultimately produce electricity by use of a generator. (41)

Migrating and adapting with a new society is a laborious and complex process for immigrants. Although some think that integrating into destination community is not required an adaptation to local customs and norms, others including me don not believe so. This essay will discuss my opinion. (46)
Primary reason confirming people should follow new country’s pattern of behavior is that adaptation process could help immigrants to communicate effectively with other people. First of all, if they observe societal norms, they will be able to improve their personal life. In other words, there would be more chances for them to make friends or maybe loved ones who can help them not to feel homesick. Secondly, it is more likely to develop their social life. In fact more job opportunities will be available for them due to influential coordination among them and behavioural standards of workplaces. Thus it could play a critical role on both side’s success by creating a win-win relationship between the host country and immigrants. (117)
Another aspect making a comprehensive adaptation important and essential is that old life style may sometimes be against new social standards. First of all, if emigrants behave opposite a country established customs, it might be a taboo. Not only the community does not accept unaccustomed behavior, but also may decisively reject it. Secondly, some of codes of behavior are supported by laws, religions and etc. So if someone wanted to beak them, it is not permitted by government and authorities. For instance, nevertheless people tend to have gun in the United States, it considers as an offence in most parts of the world. (103)
In conclusion, if newcomers want to be a member of a homogeneous society, it is needed to respect its norms which could revolutionise their private and social life and harmonise them with their surroundings. (34)

    Agree:
    1- Communicate effectively
    # improve personal life (Find friend or loved ones and feel less homesick)
    # develop social life (job position)
2- Old ways maybe against new society methods
    # Break the rules – become an offender
    # Behave against cultural and social norms- it’s a taboo

    Disagree:
1-leave all aspect of old life – feel unfamiliar / alien
    # Psychological disturbance (cannot forget old ones entirely and fit with new ones)
    # Disability in management personal and social life
2- Destination condition is a critical factor
    # Multinational cities are multicultural – no need to abandon previous culture
    # Most of moral principles are common around the world, just details are different- no need to abandon previous behaviour

Tourism popularity has been increasing over the past few decades. Although some people think it could have detrimental effects worldwide, others including me believe that considerable positive results can be achieved. This article will discuss both views. (37)
On the one hand, some emphasise the disadvantages of tourism from an international perspective. First of all, environmental pollution would be raised not only on the land but also in the oceans and air. More travels by plane, train and cars emission greenhouse gases in Earth’s atmosphere. Secondly, global holiday making could have adverse impact on societies. Traveling to over vast distances may increase the risk of diseases outbreaks, which can leads into epidemics. In other words, a great number of diseases particularly infections for example influenza would be spread around the world, responsible for disability and death for a large amount of population and inevitable social consequences. (108)
On the other hand, opponents intend to argue that not all aspects of tourism are negative. Firstly, tourism can revolutionise the local and global economy and provide prosperity especially for destination countries, if officials and authorities set realistic and achievable goals based on theirs potentials and facilities and plan effectively. It means that a variety of industries related to tourism such as hoteling, traveling and even retailing can benefit. Secondly, when the various nationalities from different backgrounds communicate to each other, it would be a good opportunity to develop harmonious relationships and lasting peace between nations and countries. (98)
In conclusion, nevertheless tourism environmental and social adverse impact may be a cause for concern, its significant role in developing world economy and peace cannot be neglected. (27)

The chart illustrates the whole time (billion minutes) that British spent on three different call types; local lines, national and international fixed lines and mobile calls between 1995 and 2002. (30)
In 1995, the amount of local calls by fixed lines in the UK was around 70 billion minutes. Then it increased gradually and reached a peak of about 90 billion minutes in 1999. After that it showed a downward trend in the next four years before falling back to its first level at almost 70 billion minutes in 2002. (57)
The total length of time spent on telephone calls by national and international fixed lines and mobiles surged all over the period, rising from about 40 and 2 billion minutes at the beginning to 60 and 45 billion minutes at the end of period respectfully in 2002. (48)
Overall, although fixed line local calls experienced slight variation, they remained as the most popular phone calls. While the two other groups received more attention from beginning to end, the amount of changes in using mobile phones was more significant. (39)

Selecting among a variety of choices is a controversial topic. Although, some think that people face different options these days, others including me believe many factors may limit everyone’s choosing. Both views will discuss in this essay. (37)
On the one hand, some cite that people can select their ideal items between large numbers of possibilities. First of all, the significant progress and evolution in science and technology provides the opportunity to produce a wide range of products. In other words, professional services are supplied by expert knowledge and sophisticated equipment. Secondly, if companies cannot coordinate their trade with customers’ diverse needs and interests, they will lose their market share, especially in international market. So intense competition between businesses leads to a great deal of products which are produced in order to appeal and keep more customers and earn substantial profit. (103)
On the other hand, opponents intend to argue that decision making process could be restricted by several factors. First of all, scarce resources such as money and time would decrease the number of choices. It means that it is not important how many options there are in front of consumers if they cannot afford to purchase. A range of leisure time activities from adventurous sports to luxurious holidays cannot attract people when they stick in hectic life. Secondly, products and opportunities are not distributed equally among population. Inequality between people from various nationalities, races, religions and even genders might affect their access dramatically even to critical services. (107)
In conclusion, nevertheless the drastic increase in quantity and quality of products and services is inevitable, in my opinion, their accessibility and customers’ buying power and freedom in decision making are not expanded considerably. (34)

Junk food is an internationally famous topic. Although, some people think the appearance of these foods could be a positive alteration, others including me believe its adverse impacts would be more significant. (32)
On the one hand, the popularity of fast food around the world could be noticed as a positive modification. First of all, it is delicious, accepted and welcomed by most people with various taste in eating. So if people in different countries have the same dietary habit, agriculture and food industry can utilize this opportunity thoroughly for making and developing substantial profits based on a universal trade. Secondly, fast food can be prepared promptly with basic equipment. So it is an attractive option for hectic lifestyle, meant that by spending less time on cooking, everyone will have more chance to do other important and essential tasks. (106)
On the other hand, opponents argue that fast food is usually unhealthy and the result of sedentary lifestyle. Suggesting that a large amount of oil, salt and sugar with speedy cooking process leads into a kind of food which has a great deal of calories and maybe toxic materials and less amount of nutrients. If people tend to eat this food along with the low level of physical activity, it will increase the rate of physical and mental illnesses such as obesity and depression. Secondly, fast food can be eaten everywhere in a short time, consequently, people spend less time on meals, relating and communicating with their families and friends on the table. Not all social relationships are built during meals, but improving emotional connections can be accomplished. (128)
In conclusion, nevertheless fast food is usually flavourful and suit a variety of taste and busy lifestyle, in my opinion, having a healthy diet and enjoying life with loved ones is much more valuable.(34)

The line graph illustrates average weekly hours that 10 to 11 years old children spent on computer and TV as home leisure activity between 2000 and 2008. (27)
In 2000, children spent under 4 hours on computer every week. This number increased dramatically by 2004 and reached to TV viewing time (15 hours). After that its growth continued steadily over its counterpart up to the present time in 2008 at almost 22 hours per week. (47)
Children spent above 20 hours per week on TV programme in 2000 and it remained constant for 3 years by 2003. Then during 2004 it declined sharply to about 15 hours each week and except some fluctuations between 2005 and 2006, it showed a period of stability up to the end of span in 2008. (54)
Overall, it appears children preference for pastime activities has altered during 9 years. Although, TV was much more popular than computer at the beginning, computer has been replaced at the end of period. (33)

Starvation and malnutrition is one of the most serious issues in the world. Although, there are some reasons for this challenge, several influential remedies can be taken to tackle it. This essay will discuss these points. (36)
Some factors are involved in hunger of a huge number of population in the world despite the astonishing developments in science and technology. First of all, state-of-the-art facilities are not distributed equally across the countries, meaning that affluent and developed countries are equipped with the considerable knowledge and modern technology which permit them to cultivate organic produce, while less developed countries employ inefficient methods which lead into poor harvest. Secondly, various types of agricultural products such as honey bees who have critical role in natural ecosystem are destroyed due to human activities and overuse or misuse of environmental resources and polluting them with chemical pesticides. (105)
Despite the fact that the number of hunger people especially children has been increasing, some practical solutions can be addressed. First of all, not all sophisticated equipment should be exported to low-income countries by spending a fortune. If thorough knowledge and farming methods according to local potential transmitted, it would increase the cost benefit of investment in cultivated fields. For example drip irrigation system would be an alternative technique for dry areas. Secondly, if educational programs and preventive measures adapted, protecting and preserving the natural resources would be possible, which provide a safe habitat and sufficient food for creatures. Attention to organic agriculture principles and eco-friendly approaches should be taught and followed by all people. (115)
In conclusion, however a great deal of world population suffer from famine and hunger due to unequal access to knowledge and technology and misuse of natural resources, some coordinated actions can be done to provide adequate food and protect earth at the same time. (44)

The two maps illustrate how tourist facilities has been constructed in an island. One shows it before the construction and another demonstrate the work result.
A few hundreds square meter island can be seen in the first map which is deserted. There are only some palm trees sparsely/straggly and also a beach in the left side. Significant changes after developing is considerable. Some accommodation has been sited on the middle and western side connected to one another and reception centre by foot path. A restaurant has been built not far from the reception toward north which is reachable by vehicle track. Beach has been equipped by swimming supplies in the left side. There is a pier in the south joining reception to some pleasure boats by vehicle track. The right side of island was remained untouched and natural environment has been kept partly as a tourist attraction.
Overall, the Island has been designed and decorated efficiently to provide some both necessary and luxury facilities by respecting to desert attraction especially in the eastern side for a variety of tourists. (179)

The internet has dramatically altered our live over the past few decades. Although some of these changes have been negative, the overall effect of this technology has been positive. What are your opinions on this?
The internet has an inevitable role in human societies. Although some believe its disadvantages are more noticeable rather than the benefits, others including me argue that the internet can be seen as the most influential invention in this century. This essay will discuss both views. (45)
On the one hand, some people think the internet cannot be considered as a useful tool. First of all, information hacking is more likely to occur, meant that a great deal of critical information could be stolen by criminals who may misuse it illegally. In many cases people’s privacy or organizations’ benefits will be attacked if high security measures are not being employed. Secondly, the internet contribution in all aspects of modern lifestyle worries authorities seriously. The reduced control on nation’s ability in data gathering and networking leads to an increase in the number of offenders and decrease in the sense of social security. (104)
On the other hand, opponents mention that the internet can be as a multi-purpose object when it utilize properly. Firstly, it is a valuable source of information transferring data among domestic, academic, business and government networks. Suggesting that it provides opportunity for growth and development in various fields. Secondly services are more accessible for both providers and beneficiaries. Job responsibilities can be done from long distances, while customers are well supplied by full time services. Sophisticated information systems which are equipped by World Wide Web allow local and international suppliers offer efficient and comprehensive options in public and private sectors. (100)
By way of conclusion, despite the indisputable fact that data hacking and less possibility for monitoring people can be cited as the negative side effects of this technology, wide availability of information and considerable ability for accomplishing a variety of duties from faraway places would be contended as its positive impact.(51)

  • Writing task 3
Some people think that it is better to educate boys and girls in separate schools. Other, However, believe that boys and girls benefit mere from attending mixed schools. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
Children education and related topics such as schools are received attention by plenty of people specially parents. Although some believe that co-education have more advantages, others including me argue that single- schools are extremely effective. This essay will discuss both views. (41)
On the one hand, some people prefer mixed- education. First of all, if both girls and boys take part in the same schools, it is more likely to compete more efficiently, which could improve knowledge acquisition. Secondly, socialization is an essential skill not only for children but also for everyone in whole life that could be practiced in schools. Communication and social abilities are learned as they speak together about subjects, common projects and maybe extracurricular activities. Thirdly, not all work places make employees of both genders, but in most cases, men and women have to do job responsibilities through team work to optimize productivity. As a result, mixed-gender schools prepare pupils for the real world of work. (118)
On the other hand, opponents believe single-gender education is practically useful for a variety of purposes. Firstly, gender-isolated education maximize the consequences of access safe learning atmosphere, while minimize the effect of – related risks and even criminal behaviours. Homogeneous talent resources among student learning groups can be mentioned as the second reason. Girls tend to learn faster while boys prefer more freedom and are better in practical subjects. So if separate educational context are prepared, more influential curriculum will be provided by authorities and children will gain considerable benefit from their years of study in primary and secondary schools. Some people think that it is better to educate boys and girls in separate schools. Other, However, believe that boys and girls benefit mere from attending mixed schools. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
Children education and related topics such as schools are received attention by plenty of people specially parents. Although some believe that co-education have more advantages, others including me argue that single-s..e…x schools are extremely effective. This essay will discuss both views. (41)
On the one hand, some people prefer mixed-s..e…x education. First of all, if both girls and boys take part in the same schools, it is more likely to compete more efficiently, which could improve knowledge acquisition. In addition it prepares them for real world of work. Not all work places make employees of both genders, but in most cases, men and women have to do job responsibilities through team work to optimize productivity. Secondly, socialization is an essential skill not only for children but also for everyone in whole life that could be practiced in schools. Communication and social abilities are learned as they speak together about subjects, common projects and maybe extracurricular activities. (114)
On the other hand, opponents believe single-gender education is practically useful for a variety of purposes. Firstly, gender-isolated education maximize the consequences of access safe learning atmosphere, while minimize the effect of s…e…x- related risks and even criminal behaviours. Having a happy life is a big subject for everyone the whole time. Although some believe that adolescence is a blissful time, others including me cite that adults feel happier in their life. This essay will discuss both views.
On the one hand, some argue that teenage years are the happiest and most enjoyable time in one’s life. First of all, less responsibility indoors and outdoors is mentioned widely. Adults face with difficulties and dilemmas putting strong pressure on their body both physically and mentally, while adolescents’ decisions mostly do not have complicated and long-term consequences. So they rarely experience this situation. Secondly fewer duties tend to minimize youth responsibilities, while maximize their free time. However, not all teenagers would simply be able to benefit from ease of life due to schools’ assignments or maybe part-time job, but leisure activities are more available for them rather than their parents.
On the other hand, some people believe that adults are more likely to be content with life. The first reason can be seen in economic effect of getting older. In spite of adults hectic lifestyle, having well-paid job provides opportunity for them to create a sense of satisfaction by owning possessions or doing luxury activities. Feeling of individual and social independence is the second reason. They would have the considerable freedom of choice. If someone decides freely not only about major topics but also on routine matters, it could have an important role in joy.

Big cities have more priority for many people rather than small towns. Much more facilities are provided by authorities in huge and capital areas. First of all, there are more population there, means that more facilities and services are needed for their day to day life requirements. For example a verity of public transportation (bus, taxi and underground), leads into easier and more comfortable travel, particularly for families with children. Secondly, the level of services are higher, suggesting that sophisticated experts are available in the state of the art centres. For instance hospitals with experienced professional health teams are accessible in modern cities.
Big and metropolitan cities also provide better situation for job that could be a strong motivation for many people, especially youngsters. Firstly, there are large number of industries around and inside the big cities making more job opportunities for folk with different type of skills. Another reason seems to be that high educated people could find positions in companies which are completely match with their experts in national and international market. Additionally it is more likely for them to make progress and reach to higher situation in their jobs, as there are more chances in big institutes obviously.
