Some people work for the same organization all their working life. Others think that it is better to work for different organizations.

Discuss both of these views and give your own opinion.

Career is of utmost importance in modern societies and can greatly influence one’s life. Although some believe spending the whole working life in one place is advantageous, others argue that one can actually be better off having work experience of various organizations. In this essay, I will discuss the issue and provide reasons for both of these viewpoints.

Some argue that an employee can in fact make more progress when they work in different places. First of all, the hierarchy and management techniques of different organizations vary enormously and the employees can probably find the themselves being the fittest simply by moving to a new system rather than going to the ordeal of adaptation process.  Secondly, since the everyday tasks in most corporations are almost always repetitive and can be learnt only in the first few months, switching to a new system can open the door to more knowledge and expertise.

On the other hand, however, there are those who argue that the potential for promotion and a better position grows when they choose to stay with their first employers. In the majority of organizations, one of the most important contributing factors to the employee’s salary is the period of time they have served that given organization with senior members enjoying the highest salaries. If one chooses to leave a place, they inevitably endanger their chance of receiving a better salary in the new place.

It appears to me that with the financial crises of capitalist economic system  now and then and the danger of getting laid off, there should be a new definition for the loyalty to people you work for and it makes sense if your decision is to go when the time is right.

All in all, although I personally believe moving to a new place is probably a better choice, considering the chaotic economic situation around the world, there are benefits such as a higher salary in staying and more experience and recognition in moving to a new place and both can be attractive options.
